Ever dream of working for an embattled public health organization -- the kind of non-profit that just bleeds supporters for bowing to anti-abortion political demands?

Then look no further than the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, which appears to be hiring!

Sure, the group issued a reversal of its decision to de-fund breast cancer screenings at Planned Parenthood offices nationwide, but the damage has already been done -- women's health advocates are wildly angry and remain mistrustful of the group.

But that shouldn't stop you from getting a pleasant paycheck from one of the nation's most notorious non-profits. Not at all!

All you need is a bachelor's degree, a few years of managerial experience, and voila -- you too can hawk pink ribbons on anything from KFC to handguns!

1. Agreed...Damage is done

All of these fun factoids keep skipping out into the glare. Some of them were already public but not publicized, some of them were complete revelations that really needed daylight.
1. Only 24%---that is 24 measly pennies on every dollar---is designated to honest research in this organization. The rest is spent on bloviated salaries, lawsuits to protect slogans and ribbon colors, and overhead.
2. Ari Fleisher---everyone remember him?---was up to his nostrils in the hiring and placement of this VP who blew all of this up. She is anti woman, anti choice, and to top it off, she is a homophobe.
3. Komen has also defunded stem cell research. All of it. We may find a cure for breast cancer, but Parkinsons, Lou Gherigs, lukemia, and spinal cord injuries be damned
4. This 'apology' everyone is now talking about wasn't an apology at all IMO. They more or less expressed regret at being caught with their pink ribbons down. They only promised to change the criteria for disbursing grants, and they didn't say they would go back to the criteria they had before. THis year's grants are not the ones that everyone was taking to task. It is the future of grants and disbursements that are and were always at issue.
5. The true goal of Komen and their mission is now clear. Melissa Harris Perry said it best on MSNBC yesterday. Komen's goal is to strip all of the 'good' things from PP. IF they cannot do breast screenings, pap smears, education, referrals, and health care for those who need a gap filled, then all they are left with are the 'bad' things. PP could now be a clear 'Bad Guy' and it would be much more righteous and easy to hate and villify them. This is the very DEFINITION of RIght Wing Demagoguery. I will no longer give them ANYTHING.
