I think there's some sort of custom or protocol that the party head doesn't try for the nom. Someone jump in and correct me if I'm wrong.

Running for governor was only supposed to be a stepping stone move for him. I don't think the problem with him was ever so much that he'd run the RNC, but that he was a marble mouthed douchebag. Republicans have a strong custom of not nominating douchebags if they have strong regional accents.

I did the math on Wesley Clark. I don't think he'll do it. So I'd like to see another freshman senator get in there. (She's an Oklahoman). That Cuomo kid might be ripe by then, too. Claire McCaskill always impresses me when I see her on tv. For a dark horse, Tom Udall would be fun. I'm not a fan of outsiders, nor of lifelong pols. I wish there was young Joe Biden out there...

on Morning Joe for me. She's not nearly progressive enough but she beats the hell out of the other Senator from Missouri, the wig-wearing douchebag Blunt - I can't even remember that dick's first name.

Elizabeth Warren is a great choice.....But I like Congr. Marcy Kaptur, too. She's been impressing me with her forcefulness of speech for several years now.

I can't stand that puke, nor his son, Matt, who was governor here. Luckily I was living in Florida during Matt Blunt's governorship, but I understand he did his best to destroy the state during his four years. I am not too keen on Claire McCaskill for president, either. She is too conservative for my taste.

I think he's a bit long in the tooth at this point in time. Someone younger will have more stamina and appeal, I think.

We need to put Elizabeth in the chair before we make plans for her future (this is something I am working actively to accomplish). Don't forget she's fighting an incumbent who is working his ass off to "read" like an independent instead of a Republican. He may be dumb, but he's not completely stupid.

Bernie Sanders. But it won't happen.

There are some up-and-comers, though.

Brian Schweitzer

Sherrod Brown

Can't rule out Hill yet, either.

She's lived it. Working class background, dropped out of college to marry, finished degree, was a teacher, and later a stay at home mom. She decided to go to law school, and practiced law from home. She's divorced and remarried. She has lived a very typical American life, and has been in the right place at the right time to get national attention. Class act!

Many good names have been listed of well qualified candidates. Any would be better than the clowns running in the Republican party this time. Keep it Dems, we can do everything better.
