Pete Hoekstra airs offensive, racist ad during Superbowl XLVI

Pete Hoekstra airs offensive, racist ad during Superbowl XLVI

by Eclectablog

Who thought THAT was a good idea?

Un-freakin' real. "Twitter Pete" Hoekstra, the man who wasn't even smart enough to buy his own domain during his run for Governor of Michigan, ran an ad during this year's Superbowl that was so blatantly racist and offensive to Asians that even GOP consultants are flinching.

The portrayal of a young Asian woman speaking broken English in a Super Bowl ad being run by U.S. Senate candidate Pete Hoekstra against Michigan incumbent Debbie Stabenow is bringing charges of racial insensitivity.

GOP consultant Nick De Leeuw flat-out scolded the Holland Republican for the ad.

“Stabenow has got to go. But shame on Pete Hoekstra for that appalling new advertisement,” De Leeuw wrote on his Facebook page Sunday morning. “Racism and xenophobia aren’t any way to get things done.”

Here's the ad:

“Thank you, Michigan Senator Debbie Spenditnow. Debbie spends so much American money. You borrow more and more from us. Your economy get very weak. Ours get very good. We take your jobs. Thank you, Debbie Spenditnow.”

15. He's from a very conservative religious district with its main population center

in the Grand Rapids, MI, metro area.

I grew up in his district, which was then represented by the equally hideous Guy VanderJact, and the guy is just an all around jerk. As I posted in a different thread, no decent candidates ever come out of his old district.

He's supported by the De Vos section of the MI pubbies. Thankfully, the De Vos candidates don't do well state-wide.

Hoekstra was an absolute fountain of classified information.

If he were a Dem, and he ain't, folks would be calling him a TRAITOR!

Holland only goes for really conservative jerk candidates.

Nothing has changed in Holland since the Dutch settlers arrived in the 1840s as refugees from the liberal Netherlands.

The Holland area is different from Kalamzoo. The pubbies from Holland are really hard core.

I grew up in W. Michigan north of Muskegon, and I'm not really surprised.

What's unbelievable is that his "spend-it-not" ads are all over THIS website when I look at it.

The only thing that keeps me from vomiting is the knowledge that it is money wasted.

18. So it's Debbie Stabenow who's borrowing all that money from China?

Liberal propaganda had me believing we were borrowing money from China to pay for the Bush/Reagan tax cuts. And I was brainwashed into believing that it was free trade agreements of the type advocated by the US Chamber of Commerce that were sending our jobs to China. Thanks for clearing that up, Pete Hoekstra, I'm sure you're going to go right in there and fix it right up! (Can you book Spinal Tap for your election night party?)

(PS: My browser's spell check didn't recognize "Hoekstra"- suggested "jockstrap&quot
