Has Romney actually given any in depth interviews since this campaign season started?

I know he's tried to campaign only against Obama, until Newt threw a monkey wrench in that, and trying to shift back to that now that he looks to wrap up the primaries, but I don't recall him actually giving any long interview on TV or in print.

Did he?

That would be uncomfortable for him, because he is essentially pretending he is a right wing conservative now, when he really isn't. I don't think he wants to answer any hard questions. It would tend to highlight how he shifts stances on all kinds of things.

There's no "depth" to give an interview about. Guy's as shallow as a mud puddle.

Anyhow, his handlers don't like it when he talks without a script. He's too likely to say what he really thinks.

never mind the same sentence.

That's precisely what R-Money's problem is -- he's as substantial as cotton candy and as appealing a cactus.

But it also has one of those sprinkler things in the middle, which at least makes wading in the urine fun for the kids.

Seems even general interviews result in him putting his foot in his mouth and showing the world and all important independents how unelectable he really is.

questions. It was in early December IIRC.

It was a total failure on his part.

Say nothing. Do the so-called debates and try not to step in a big steaming piles of turds, while you let the other candidates shoot themselves in their collective feet.

He's knows better. Read up on Romney; his whole life has been about risk aversion, largely because of his goal to be president one day. His tenure at Bain is particularly telling, and works right into his unwillingness to do interviews -- because he might make a mistake. Romney's whole life has been based upon avoiding mistakes that could harm his presidential chances.

Of course, the irony runs deep. He's become so insulated from reality that he seems to make mistakes every time he opens his plastic Hall Of Would-Be Presidents mouth.

Back to your op...he doesn't give interviews because that would put him in the hot seat for real, serious questions for which he might give the wrong answer. Even Fox "News" has proven that they can't be trusted to simply stroke him on camera.

He is a pathetic individual.

Romney Stops Taking Questions

Mitt Romney answered his last question from a voter three weeks ago, the Washington Post reports.

"Out are 55-minute town hall meetings. In are 15-minute stump speeches at buffed-up rallies. There are rope lines and hot lights, giant flags and Secret Service agents with wires in their ears. The objective: appear presidential, avoid gaffes and convince Republicans that they have no reasonable option left but to rally around Romney's winning candidacy."

"He has pivoted from a retail campaign based on convincing people at his events that he has a command of the issues to a made-for-television spectacle where the people are simply props helping project an aura of momentum and inevitability to a national audience.
