Can Romney win his home state of Mass, and threaten in Michigan?

One thing that worries me a bit with Romney is certain Obama states are going to be in play with him on the ticket. Obama won New Hampshire, Mass, Michigan, Nevada, and COlorado last time. These are all going to be harder this time. Romney has roots in Michigan, and seems popular in the northeast.

Obama dies not figure to win North Carolina, Indiana, and Virginia this time.

As bad I hate to admit it, this election will be tough.

Makes her good to go for New York as well. NY likes celebrity senators.

Mitt suffers from not being likable. His politics doesn't help him in Massachusetts.

He ran against Kennedy for Senator as a leftist Republican a la Weld. He ran for Governor as a moderate.

Halfway through his term, literally in a single day, he became a far-right nut and left the state for almost the remainder of his term: he had started his run for the presidency.

He couldn't get elected as chief bottle washer here.

Mittens hasn't got a shot in MA, even his buddy Scott Brown is so worried about his Senate seat that he's running ads touting how independent he can be from the GOP establishment.

Gov. Snyder is so hated here that we are all anxious to vote against every (R) we possibly can. I don't think Mitt can win here.

Edit to add, remember Pres. Obama won 365-173. He can afford to lose a couple states and still hold office.

The GOP don't want to win this election. That's why we've seen this parade of clowns. They're letting all the losers and also-rans have their day in the sun because they're really shooting for 2016. They think they can obstruct and hold their collective breath for four more years, putting this country into such an awful place that they'll sweep the executive, senate and house.

Further, any "non-clown" actually believes the same general nonsense as the clowns, which means they are little different just less brash and harsh on the sensibilities.

I've lived in Michigan all my life, I'm 53 years old and I have no recollection of George Romney.
I'm certainly not going to vote for Mitt just because he was born in this state. He spent his whole life elsewhere. He really has zero connection with the people here or this place.

He supported labor. He marched with Dr. King. Any mention of him in the fall campaign will just make Mittens look small and pathetic in comparison.

He will probably a move a few points closer than most Republicans could in those states, but that's probably not going to be enough to put him over the top.

This is going to be Ohio, Colorado, Iowa, and Florida deciding it. Obama can lose N.C., Indiana, and Virginia (which he probably will) and still have many ways to win. Of those first four, either Florida or Ohio alone will give it to him. But in a worst-case scenario he could lose both Ohio and Florida and still squeak by 272-266 if he gets Iowa and Colorado. Mitt would have to take back Virginia, N.C, and Indiana to even think about having a shot. Then he would also have to win both Florida and Ohio, plus either Colorado or Iowa. That's a pretty tall order for him.

Obama is doing performing pretty well in the polls. Seems popular in the Northeast? Really! could you cite some polls showing Romney carrying MA? or even NH, a new poll had Obama up by ten. Where are you getting your assumptions?

I got there before the polls opened and the line was already huge. Normally I show up after work and only have 20-30 people ahead of me.
