Occupy where you are
Occupy Anchorage has moved inside for the most part, given that we've had one of the coldest and snowiest winters on record, but individual actions are still taking place. The city and the police have agreed to let the first amendment tent (the first amendment is printed on it with waterproof magic marker) and one other small tent stay up on the edge of the sidewalk at Town Square Park, which is right downtown. Sometimes people sleep there, sometimes not, but there haven't been any problems.
Occupier Brent has been giving a short speech here each Sunday. Sometimes people are there, but usually it's just me to give moral support and document his efforts. He's really quite a good extemporaneous speaker on the issues dear to Occupiers' hearts; people would do well to stop and listen to what he's saying.

Yesterday he spoke of how the media chooses to present the Occupy movement, concentrating only on the confrontations and scuffles but completely ignoring the many peaceful Occupy actions taking place all around the country. Case in point, he has invited all of the local media outlets to do a story on his presentations, but not a single reporter has showed up.
