All staff replaced at LA school where two teachers 'sexually abused pupils and spoonfed them semen'

The entire staff at a Los Angeles school where one teacher is accused of feeding his semen to students and another allegedly abused two girls will be removed, it has emerged.

The 88 teachers and 40 support staff at Miramonte Elementary School are being replaced because a full investigation of allegations is disruptive and staffers will require support to get through the scandal, Superintendent John Deasy told parents and media last night.

The move comes after three dozen parents and supporters protested in front of the main doors of the school earlier in the day, some carrying a banner that read: 'We the parents demand our children be protected from lewd teacher acts.'

In another thread about this, someone wondered why no one came forward and the idea that this school may have had a high hispanic attendance was tossed about. I think there may be some validity to that claim. The article itself didn't touch on why this went on so long, it may be because the reporter decided not to lay blame at the victims' feet or it could be that we don't know yet.

I approve of the board's actions. Though, since two teachers from the same school were caught, apparently committing these acts separate from one another, I worry about any of the teacher's they are sending to other schools. It reminds me of how the Catholic church (and I'm not slamming catholics, just the church itself) deals with their priests. I hope that isn't the case here.

Seriously - they behaved this way, in the shadows - because they thought their victims were easy targets that would go gently away. And they didn't. And that's a good thing!

I'd guess there are probably some folks in the community that are here illegally too. Their kids know that, and I'm sure the teacher's do as well. Sadly, I'm sure there are repubs somewhere clapping because these poor kids got what they deserved because they're probably here illegally.
