The Crickett website is currently down

Crickett is "My First Rifle" and was the gun used in the Kentucky five-year-old's My First Murder. If you try going to crickett.com, you get a Red Hat Linux test page, and if you go to the page Mother Jones has linked to, you get an Apache "file not found" error.

Maybe they do have some shame. However, the squirrel rifle page, also for kids, is still up. The pictures of the kids with the rifles aren't there, though.

8. Something really strange about that picture

It shows someone with, undoubtedly, a Crickett in a classic bird hunting pose, trusty Labrador by his side. It's strange because you don't hunt birds over dogs with a rifle, you do it with a shotgun.

One might think, well maybe he's hunting rabbits. No. Rabbit hunters use beagles or basset hounds.

The local news at 11 PM reported that the gun manufacturer has been inundated with e-mails. I can only imagine that those e-mails were not complimentary.
