I am not sure if this is the right place, but here goes...

When I was much younger I was Center-Left because I believed there was a place for business to make a profit as long as it was harnessed to serve societies needs.

I still believe it.

For some reason that now makes me a Left-wing idealogue, practically a communist.

to Republicans or conservatives. I am amazed that if you support economic justice and social justice you are labeled antibusiness and unAmerican anti free market.

If you cannot feed yourself and you cannot have decent work you are NOT free.

ensconced in corporate law. They are required to put profit of the shareholders, (that are comprised of those with a controlling interest, i.e., owners) above all else.

Not that we have much say, (as popular opinion has less sway than ever) changing corporate law to reflect impact and benefit on community, society and environment would be a possible solution.

Something along the lines of an indicator, possibly linked to taxes, (which won't work because large corporations tend to pay little) that would balance and relate profit to impact. Of course, that would have to be loop-hole proof and enforced and, in today's neo-Fascist environment, loop-holes would be found and enforcement would be nil.

Trying to convince some people is nearly impossible. Pretty funny though they really do not read what they supposedly think are American fundamentals.

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

The Founders tried to make this entire country a Union. They knew that togetherness was the key to Our success and longevity, not to mention prosperity. Many of the Founders were Guildsman, Tradesman, and Craftsman. They understood a system that delineated levels of skills and standards of pay that their members should be entitled to.

As an aside the NEA was Founded in 1857. But it is only recently that the Teachers Union is destroying the American Educational system? How does that work? For over 100 yrs the Teachers Union was no problem then all of a sudden they morphed into destructo.

to capitalism but both manage markets.

communism/socialism merely flatlines the input that workers and drones require to continue to produce for the oligarchs/state and attempts to maximize the output of the individual via large scale tribalism. (as opposed to the illusion of individual contribution, individual gain)

both, like religion, are control mechanisms
