"Kirk at 1st public appearance in Ill. since stroke: 'Rehab works'" Chicago Tribune

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chi-kirk-at-1st-public-appearance-in-ill-since-stroke-rehab-works-20130503,0,7069335.story

Kirk did not address his health but, when asked about it later by a reporter, he said: “It is a change. I will say that rehab works. Part of my mission is to tell everyone in Illinois who has (a parent with a medical issue who is depressed), call me and I’ll get them up.”

-snip

"The reason I limp around is because I suffered a stroke, which rendered my arm and leg non-operational," Kirk told the students. "I am not as quick as I used to be. I have a mission ... to show and be an example to your older parents who go through something like that that ... you can come back."

I'm not a heartless person, so I will say that I'm glad he's doing well. He has a lot of family that cares for him. He also has a lot of taxpayers paying his bills. Many of those same taxpayers can't afford rehab, much less the initial healthcare costs of a stroke. So, now that he's 'back in the game'...fuck off you piece of shit. You were scum before and having a limp isn't going to make you any less scummy. You can sit in that fucking wheelchair and choke back those crocodile tears until your God strikes you down. It won't make a difference to the thousands and thousands of people that will die because they can't afford the same quality of care that you can. They'll die, Kirk. Just die. No rehab. No nurses to help them dress or eat. Nothing. They'll just...die.

Go to hell.

He likely participates in the Federal Employees Health Benefits plan as do I (and my husband,) WE pay premiums, employer (govt) pays some, and we pay co-pays.

I agree that many unemployed can't afford such so I'm pleased the ACA has passed, but wanted to clarify attributes of health care for Federal employees.

...we're paying your paycheck (gladly, I might add ). I'm going to take a wild guess and say we're paying him more than we're paying you and your husband. I'm in no way criticizing the average gov't. worker's access to healthcare. I'm criticizing the hypocrites that go out in public talking about how 'rehab works' and how you can 'get back on your feet' with no compassion for those that truly can't do those things. Those that will fight against any chance that the rest of us can get a fraction of the same care. Not you, your husband, most Democratic pols...them. Those guys over there ----------->

Great
now students think their parent isnt improving due to lack of health care therapy costs
but because it is all in their head and
if only they would pull themselves up like Kirk and snap out of it......
and if they are clinically depressed how does a call from Mr Bootstraps "get them up"???

Meanwhile the scene of the crime was a new charter school...........
Appearing with U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., and U.S. Rep. Brad Schneider, D-Ill., Kirk opened with a few remarks praising the LEARN Public Charter School and advocating for more charter schools in the suburbs.
