Or is there an exception for dangerous circumstances not of human origin?

(10,237 posts)sirens blaring and the smoke gets thicker 25 miles south east ...there is a difference between what happened in Boston and the millions of people who choose to live in what the native Americans called the Valley Of yellow Air
we are past due for a quake and this fire will be bad because it might be on several fronts in a very dry part of the country.

(51,666 posts)I don't think. That would probably be us here in the San Fernando Valley. Though it's not yellow right now - it's gray. And suffocating.
Winds out of the SW are blowing all that smoke right to my apartment.

(4,104 posts)We've exchanged notes before. I used to be a 91316 gal. I rode out the '94 quake on Killion Street. I live in Westlake Village now. I couldn't wait to get indoors tonight. The smoke and ash is awful around here.

(51,666 posts)no brush within at least a mile, and that is all to the south so anytime the Santa Anas blow, the fires just head farther south. Once the winds reverse and blow to the north, it's off the ocean and much cooler and moister and the fires lay down.

Around Camarillo I will be able to open my car's windows and feel the cool coastal air, and breathe deeply.
Except when there's a fire in the region....

(4,104 posts)It does seem like you're going to another world. The Central Coast is so cool...literally and figuratively.

That looks like it came out of Watchtower or some Mormon publication.
