What is Obama doing to educate the public about the Affordable Care Act?

I just saw this advertised on television for $19.95. The web address is to a right wing site so I wouldn't expect the book to be very helpful. But I hope the Obama administration does get a good readable message out on this starting soon.

Even if one can afford the insurance they can easily still go broke and bankrupt easily due to an illness. The insurance companies are happy though.

I try to keep up with the news etc. as much as anyone. I never hear or see anything about how Obamacare affects the general population. For example, in the latest press conference, the president said that ACA has been "85%" implemented and the only thing left is the exchanges.... and that if the states won't fund them, the federal government will.

This was news to me, as I'm sure it was to many others. There should have been PSAs at every step of implementation. If there were, I guess most people missed them.

Another thing that has me baffled... I am hearing that doctors are cutting seniors on Medicare from their patient loads. I also know of a person who is having trouble finding a primary dr. because they are not accepting new Medicare patients. Has anyone else experienced this.... and does it have anything to do with ACA?

Thanks for any replies.

It answers some questions, but not everything. There are differences from state to state of course.

If you are still in the dark, you're probably in a red state that isn't being helpful to the citizenry like CA is:

You will be a LOT less confused if you refrain from getting your healthcare reform info from the MSM. Their job is to confuse and frustrate people.

Beats me how you can educate that population if they haven't figured out its law by now.

I'm sure it will be an even handed and informative source of information about the program.

Actually, if the administration fails to provide a concise and accurate description of the ACA, the bullshit contained in these right wing hack jobs will become truth in the minds of a lot of stupid people.

But how many people know it exists? If they did would they be spending $19.95 on a book?

The snark is because you are posting RW talking points, in essence:

"ObamaCare will hit you with taxes, fines, and denial of care if you don't protect yourself... Obama is out to get you. That's the message here."

Message received and understood. Shame on you.

I was explaining the message of the advertising for the book I saw on television.

You should read posts in context and think before you belittle other people. And we can all do without the snark.

Really?

Really? My issue is not with Obamacare but with the fact that people do not understand what it is. The right is out there publishing books with their selective interpretation on it. The Obama administration needs to do more than just set up a website-they need to do some public education on it in this non-campaign year so people know what options they have and when.
