There was no politics involved, I helped a neighbor move an old oil tank. No not for money, just because he mentioned he needed help.
Not everything is about politics, but sure as heck everything is about being a decent human being.
So brag about something you did that mattered to someone else, we can't be dismal all the time, surely we all look at the man or woman next to us and say how can I help every now and then?
Whatever action should not be restricted to us grey hairs...cheer up the place, post something you are proud of that helped someone else
*cough, if you read this far, smell the flowers sometime, not all is bitter in life, and yes you can make a difference*
This board probably needs a reminder that all of us are human and yes the point that it was not uniquely american, but indeed uniquely human to help another*

(53,339 posts)But they are loath to brag about it, feeling that the personal reward gained from the act is enough. The point is in doing good things for its own sake, not for getting credit for it.
You can encourage people to do a lot of things not to be "dismal all the time" without asking them to brag about good acts.
