I feel jaded at 23. I should be scared of a potential Sanford win.

I'm starting to feel more and more like these situations are black comedies. Laughing because it's the only thing I can do in the face of such absurdity.

Let's hope those polls indicating a dead heat are horse shit.

Only 10% of the precincts in that county have reported so far, with 28% of precincts overall reporting....

Hope it is a good indication!

In parts of the nation Sanford couldn't garner 5% of the vote and in some districts he will win easily.

This is a divided nation of disparate people. All the congressman represent a home district that pretty much shares their values and that's the way we all want it. I won't impose my values on a rural county in TEXAS and I expect that my little home county in the SF Bay area won't be affected by a RW'er.

It's very easy to live in a place where your neighbors mostly disagree with you and you with them.

Look at SC on that map, according to DU it should be bright red but it's not.

But I can feel a 60/40 area from a 40/60 area.

When progressive live in an area where they feel in the majority they can cheerfully flaunt it. I can throw (recycle) away New Yorker magazines without worrying if the garbage man will come back and key my car.

I can drive my 2013 Prius C 50mph if I want to when other cars are going 60mph and my neighbors understand me. In some parts of the country New Yorker mags in the trash and an underspeed Prius will make you physically at risk.

EDIT: and to be fair... a 2013 Porsche Carrera with a RR bumper sticker might attract some stonesin some areas.

Don't put anything past them.

Gov Wallace, Strom Thurmond

We've got our lunatics in Texas: Cuz, Stockman and Gohmert

I think Stockman is the worst of them. He's really bad. He even stood up for Timothy McVeigh. He got voted out of congress after that stuff, but now he's back.
