My, uhhh...belated 1000th post.
Forgive me if I'm a little long winded. I always imagined these posts kind of allowed for such things.
I don't want to sound like some sort of ageist. But this post hopefully will express a reality that I personally believe to be real.
Myself and those of my generation, politically conscious persons below the age of 25ish, are the most progressive generation to have ever existed in the US. We consistently demonstrate left-leaning tendencies in our beliefs and actions. People can attack us for having short attention spans SQUIRREL...
Wait, what? oh right, anyway...they can marginalize us for being emotionally or psychologically detached because of new technology (I swear I'm not checking text messages right now).
But what is ultimately so important about persons my age is the fact that we are progressive. And with the power of technology, which we wield so effortlessly (sorry, now I'm just boasting), we also possess an immense capability of mobilizing against a plethora of injustices.
The bottom line is we are going to see to it that all of the work done by older generations of progressives has not been in vain.
To the regressive, hate-filled, knuckle dragging Republicans and company (old and new):
We are children of the post 9/11 world. We've seen exactly what that means to you. You've spent so much time profiting off war and death. Maybe a little too much time? The key to your downfall hasn't been hiding in secluded Afghan villages and it probably wasn't even on the other end of those phone lines you've been tapping. We've been here watching you the entire time.
Do not underestimate us. We are empowered and we are everywhere.
Do not discount our capacity for seeing through your nonsense. Your reactionary rhetoric is fleeting and antiquated.
If there is an ounce of sense left in the remaining portion of your brain that has not turned to mush, you'd be wise to get the hell out of our way.
You do not scare us. Neither do your guns, by the way. Eventually you'll run out of bullets and then my friends and I will beat your asses like a bunch of rented mules.
In other words, DO NOT FUCK WITH US. Unless you want your face to get intimate with our boot heels.
Alright team, let's all come in for a group hug.
