Brief Kitten Sam Update - Day Three - She's doing very, very well...

Her eyes are completely clear, but I'm still doing the slave and the antibiotics. I had been keeping her at work in an empty office to feed her often and check on her, but left her at home today and checked in at lunch. She only wants to keep playing. I've kept her from the other cats because of the respiratory infection, but all night Ashley (my other 4 week old rescue kitten who is 17 months old) kept batting his hand under the door and she kept batting back. This morning I introduced them and they're in love...they only got a little time together and she had to go back, but when I came home for lunch he was sitting outside her closed door. Hopefully by this weekend anything goes.

I'll take photos tonight, but until then, here's Ashley, at about a year, and also at about 6 weeks.

today learned my 27 lb cat DU, needs to have molars extracted! OMG $500!

what is with these Vets today? they make it so hard for us to take care of our animals properly. I don't think it would cost me that much to have my own teeth pulled.

goddamit anyway- now we need to find ways to pay for it.

my 2 11 yr old cats (mom &son), had senior check up, dental extractions, blood work and post pull pain meds for that price in total.

but it's usually $250 or so just for the anesthesia. Cats need general anesthesia with IV fluids and meds and that drives the price up.

And yes, people can cost that much if they need general anesthesia for extensive dental work.

we brought home a beautiful, white, long-haired cat who needed a family. She was not always the nicest cat to her humans, but when we got a tiny kitten a few years later, Gwenivere took that kitten as her own. She groomed little Sophia, curled up around her when she slept and stayed by her side even after Sophia was all grown up. It was wonderful to see.

...we just had to take my baby Ozzy into the vet this morning. He is bleeding from the bladder, and it looks like it may have been poison...they are giving vitaminK treatments but it hasn't kicked in yet and he could need a transfusion by morning

I don't wanna jack your thread, but if some Positive Kitty Health could possibly rub off, we'd appreciate it!

(he's a huge 11 lb tomcat, orange & white, only 9 months old...hopefully his youth and good health in general will help him)

the vet called back to say that his pupils were fixed and dilated, that he may be bleeding in the brain. so we had to say goodbye.

yes, he had been an indoor/outdoor kitty...must have eaten a bad mouse. dammitt.

the kids are beside themselves, and I am not much better

These kittehs couldn't be more fortunate than to have found you.
