Just an average Joe

I seem to remember a time when people weren't so intense and shrill and pleading for you to take up arms with them for their causes. It's not bad that people have passion for what they believe, it's the voice that is used to persuade.

High pitched, hands flailing, using reasoning that is sometimes hyperbolic, in exasperated breaths. I rarely hear an advocate for a cause who is calm and presents their side with even tone and siting studied sources and just plain logic.

Maybe I need to find a different coffee bar.

Our office was pretty much like that every single day. Except all the yelling was mostly about sports.
