Calling last year's deadly attack in Benghazi, Libya the "most egregious cover-up in American history," Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) predicted Thursday that President Barack Obama will soon face calls of impeachment.
Of all the great cover-ups in history the Pentagon papers, the Iran-Contra, Wategrate and all the rest of them this is going to go down as the most serious, the most egregious cover-up in American history, Inhofe said during an appearance on The Rusty Humphries Show.
<...>
People may be starting to use the I-word before too long, Inhofe later said.
When Humphries asked if he was referring to "impeachment," the ranking member on the Senate Armed Services Committee confirmed that he was.
Inhofe's office did not immediately respond to TPM's request for comment.

Dear Useless Republicans, please STFU on Benghazi
http://www.democraticunderground.com/10022815985
Senate Foreign Relations Committee Ranking Member Bob Corker (R-TN) said Wednesday that he's "fairly satisfied" with the Obama administration's account of events that led to the deaths of American diplomats in Benghazi last year.
"We need to know were these people culpable or not. If they were, why are they still on the payroll? Other than that, I've been able to read all the cables. I've seen the films," Corker told MSNBC. "I feel like I know what happened in Benghazi. I'm fairly satisfied."
He cautioned House Republicans to be "respectful" if they probe the issue further.
"Look, if the House wants to have hearings," he said, "I hope they're done in a respectful way and hopefully it will shed some light on what happened."

On edit, ever notice that when Republicans want to make something appear worse than it is, the worst incidents they have to compare it with happened under Republican Presidents: 9/11, Iran-Contra, Iraq War, Katrina, Pentagon papers, Watergate...
One of these things is not like the other

What needs to happen is every republican in Congress thrown out on treason charges for their lack of governing and obstruction. That might just stop this bull shit.

(2,571 posts)beating that improved economic drum. please. cause then you and I will argue, and it will be all graphy, and you will argue minute improvements without any structural underpinnings, and then I will bust out the true dismal global growth picture, and then you will double down on your behavior, and then so will I, and ultimately it will just serve to further push our budding romance to the side...further depriving the world of the power couple we would be.

(100,036 posts)But the truth is they got nothing and Benghazi is pure, unaltered bullshit. It's based on nothing but a fabricated conspiracy theory peddled by a bullshit "news" network that has way more power and influence than they should. Fuck Fox, fuck Inhofe, and fuck the tea party terrorists.

It's impossible to take these morally bankrupt asshats seriously.
Go ahead and impeach, Inhofe. I have it on good authority that it will distract from the work of Congress (i.e. you won't be able to vote on repealing ACA for the billionth time) and sink con chances for re-election next year.

(28,979 posts)for failing to clean up the messes left by every GOP president. If Obama is impeached, I hope to hell the whole Bush administration comes and testifies and that the impeachment of Obama means the indictment of Rumsfeld, Cheney, Bush, Rice, et al.

(16,993 posts)that should warrant an investigation into the embassy attacks during the George W. Bush years.
And the failure to protect the country on 9/11.
And the lies Congress and the American people were told to start the wars.
Inhofe, as usual, is dead wrong on Benghazi being "the most serious, the most egregious cover-up in American history..." You just know that Bushco did things that would make almost anything any other President did pale in comparison.
Let the investigations begin!
