'Mounting Evidence' Boston Bombers Involved in 2011 Triple Murder

Massachusetts investigators have developed what they call "mounting evidence," bolstered by "forensic hits," that point to the possible involvement of both Tamerlan Tsarnaev and his younger brother Dzhokhar in a gruesome, unsolved triple homicide in 2011, law enforcement officials told ABC News.

The officials cautioned that until more definitive DNA testing is complete, it is still too early to consider bringing an indictment against the younger of the two brothers, who officials said has admitted his role in the Boston Marathon bombings that killed three and injured 260 more on April 15. Tamerlan was killed in a shootout with police days after the Marathon bombing attack, but Dhzokhar survived and was captured.

Tamerlan was buried in secret, but a source familiar with the case confirmed for ABC News a report by The Boston Globe that said the 26-year-old was buried in Virginia.

In the wake of the Marathon bombings, Middlesex County began to probe a link between the elder Tsarnaev and Brendan Mess, one of the three men killed in the gruesome slaying on Sept. 11, 2011. Officials said Mess and two men were found in a Waltham residence with their throats slit and their bodies covered with marijuana. Tamerlan and Mess were once roommates and did boxing and martial arts training together.

4. That they would have left 5k in cash on the table is strange...

...but it could speak to motive in terms of them not feeling like this was the first time they had done something horrible.

Also, Tamerlan went to Russia in early 2012. Maybe worried about prosecution?

7. From what has been reported, older Tsarnaev didn't like that younger Tsarnaev used pot.

And from what younger Tsarnaev's friends say, he really was into pot.
I don't think this was about money.

into Tsarnaev and his brother after this murder. They did think two males were involved-that was reported back in a day. Older Tsarnaev was friends with one of the victims.

9. Some small towns, not at all.

The town I grew up was like that. We're home to a large parcel of federal forest land, one of the largest such parcels in southern New England, a few hundred acres bordering an even larger parcel owned by the water company around the reservoir. (You can walk from my boyhood backyard to Canada and never see another person if you choose the wrong trajectory.) From the time I was born through the present, they find 2 to 3 bodies a year of missing criminals and drug dealers from NYC 2 hours away...and to my knowledge none of them have been solved by the local cops. I don't know that any of them have really been investigated that thoroughly.

I kind of thought Tamerlan might have been involved from the beginning. I would like to see them follow up on this.
