I haven't found that answer.
Seems like a no-brainer for a journalist to ask:
How many rightwing groups were investigated?
How many were in violation?
The NYTimes didn't provide that basic information.

applications with more rigor than other applications. All were granted tax-exempt status, IIRC.

that is problem. The IRS says it was done by "low level staff" in the Cincinnati office. For some reason, the repukes don't believe the IRS.
