(18,497 posts)My big brother tormented me to tears and provoked me to learn to fight.
But I had no real fear of him. And I knew he was my bear if shit got real.

(7,720 posts)that go national that did not used to. This does not appear to be one of those if you ask me.
A week ago there was a story that went national about an idiot arrested in a small town in Minnesota because he has some pipe bombs and molotov cocktails. That was a local story that did not deserve national attention. If he killed somebody with those devices, then it should go national.

Kid survived, not for lack of effort from older brother. I credit extremely good pre hospital care and being in the OR within an hour.
The courts found the older brother to be incapable of standing trial and instead sent him to a mental hospital.

(7,720 posts)in a manner that could use some work, but she is essentially correct. If the boy and his defense attorney keep to the story about the long-haired intruder, the prosecutor will indeed need to prove the story false.

People who take the prosecution's side before any facts ever come to trial or before any confession is made are the fools.
They also clearly don't believe that there is any point to having a judicial system.

(108,977 posts)Which seems reasonable to me, since we're still supposed to have a system that requires the state to actually prove guilt -- a system that protects all of us. I thought progressives, at least, still believed in civil rights.

The father of a 12-year-old boy arrested in the stabbing death of his 8-year-old sister, Leila Fowler, said he supports his son and believes he is innocent until evidence proves otherwise.
Barney Fowler told The Associated Press today that his family is standing behind the boy "until they have the proper evidence to show it's my son."
