Why all the surprise about the IRS looking closely at the tparty non profit organizations

after the Abramoff scandals where he funneled mega-donations right into the republican coffers.
Close looks at these operations are warranted.

The only thing that surprises me about this, is that it took the IRS this long to come around to the idea that fringe groups like Tea Party types might not be on the up and up.

not many here are putting forth the fact that the head of the IRS at the time all this was going on was a gwbush appointee. A possible PLANT if you will. Douglas Shulman http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_Shulman

Very important to note that the head of the IRS is a Bush era holdover.

The Tea party is about making government too small to regulate rabid capitalism. The end game of all Tea party activities is PROFIT; always has been, always will be.

a bunch of groups that are so anti-tax? The IRS has an obligation their taxes. They have limited resources to do it with. Doesn't it makes sense to look at the people who whine that they don't want to pay any taxes, and that despite the facts, claim that they are "Taxed Enough Already"?
