(53,339 posts)Cold turkey!
Did I switch to CNN? Wolf says, "Too close to call."
Still, I check Joe when I get a heads-up on something interesting going on there or when I hear they've got a guest I want to see.
I may be a maintenance MoJoer. So shoot me. But hey, I was as critical of Morning Joe as anyone (if Joe can pull that CYA shit, I can, too).
I still like Mika and her dad.

Amazing how since that pressure cooking bombing of the Boston Marathon, it's been all ReTHUGs all the time.
Sometimes I wonder if the conspiracy theorists don't have a point.

(2,280 posts)However, the MJ show has no credibility to criticize the President. Scarborough hates the President and has since he took office. He openly attacks President Obama for things that he defend Bush. Mika is a phoney liberal so nothing she says can be trusted. Mike Barnicle is just an idiot who spent the 90s raging against the Clintons. Combined with his serial plagerism, gives him no credibility. Then they bring on Lisa Myers, who should have been fired by NBC years ago, and has a record of inaccurate partisan reporting. Anyone who does try to bring in facts into the discussion is immediately shouted down by Scarborough and accused of parroting talking points. This happened yesterday to Bernstein and last week to Richard Wolfe and Lannie Davis.
The real problem is that Joe and Mika are so smug, so convinced that they are smarter than everyone else, they don't realize that most are on to their con game. They present stories with total bias and a disregard for basic facts. Scarborough continues to refer Victoria Nuland as Hillary Clinton's spokesperson when in reality she is a career civil servant who has served under both Democratic and Republican administrations including serving as the principal deputy foreign policy adviser to Dick Cheney when he was VP. Mika kept saying the Benghazi talking points were revised 12 times, when as Kelly O'Donnell reported last week that most of those revisions were very minor. The type of revisions that are typically made when proof reading. Which may be why Ms. O'Donnell hasn't been on the show this week.
This morning Mike Barnicle said the President should fire people at the IRS. But the President has no authority to do so. That is a basic fact that no one corrected as is that Donald Shulman, the former IRS commisioner, was a Bush appointee.
The omission of basic facts in favor of GOP spin by Scarbourgh, the use of highly partisan panel guest such as Michael Steele, Newt Gingrich, Mike Barnicle, etc., the false narrative of Mika being a liberal (when in reality she is a pro-life conservative) all combine to destroy any credibility the show has. It is FAUX & Friends lite pretending to be balanced news show. Which may be why it is fallen behind CNN in the ratings recently.

(966 posts)However, this morning, at around 7AM, I had it on for about 2 minutes before I had to change the channel to The Today Show. The bashing of President Obama regarding Benghazi and the IRS was UNRELENTING. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought I was listening to Fox & Friends.
