They think it is patriotic if they can cheat on their taxes. They don't believe in paying taxes to our government anyway.
There is no doubt in my mind but that all those Tea Partiers that were applying for a 501(c)4 tax exemption in 2010 knew they were doing it for political purposes. Most were doing it primarily and exclusively for the Republican Party and they knew it. They lied to the IRS.
Now they whine like somebody done them wrong? It was honest taxpayers that had to pay for their tax exemptions. They cheated all of us.
Just as most Republicans had no problem with Mitt Romney hiding his money in off-shore accounts. If he can get away with it, then more power to him. That is the way they think. If they can cheat Uncle Sam out of tax revenues, then they see nothing wrong with it.
Now we are supposed to feel sorry for them because the big bad government made them answer a lot of questions before they got their tax free status? Give me a break!

(39,343 posts)Wow, and now the Administration is apologizing for doing their job (which they didnt even do since these groups got their status and then used it to spend tax free dollars for electioneering).

Let's all play, "Whose Above the Law!" Last week, we had some great players from Wall St. who just couldn't seem to fail the game. Next week, we'll be in the Bush in Australia playing for keeps with some ex-officials you all know and love. And now ...
They also will be filthy rich someday because horses catch-up with the carrots, eventually.
