It's clearly suspicious Republican's don't want to pursue the AP story

Guess they like having some ability to limit the press going after politicians or else they were involved in the leak. Word got around quickly at Fox to play down the AP story. It all sounds really fishy to me on both sides. They also voted against the law that would have protected the press in this instance not to mention they were screaming and yelling about clamping down on the leaks most likely out of fear from crap they have pulled. There is so much BS going on in our Gov. from both sides. Really quite scary actually.

1. Frankly, the AP thing is the one

That bothers me the most. Partly cause I think it was probably perfectly legal, but our press is already tepid enough. This won't help. Not surprised the right isn't interested in taking this one on.

2. Muzzling the press is a traditional Republican value

If anything, they're jealous that Obama's taken the furthest steps towards muzzling the press of any US politician in the last 200 years (IIRC), and will likely plan some action that will clamp down even further to show that they can out-Republican the President.

If you don't think BS is going on on both sides you are quite naïve.

behind the scenes to be able to clamp down on whistle blowers who are often doing good work like Assange. Politicians in general probably don't want anyone looking at them too closely. Just seems like a lot of winking and nodding going on between the left and the right on the AP story. I could be wrong, it just feels that way to me.

nor do i think what you presented is enough to elevate this to level of "both side do it". i remember a dem had 90 grand in his freezer and the party threw him out but much beyond that idk.
