Since the IRS will not ever be able to establish an efficient means to audit tax exempt political

groups, after this latest 'scandal' is over, than I suggest that we all establish our own non-profit IRS 501(c)4 groups. Since we know that the IRS didn't target the Big Groups because they had too much money and were too powerful even though any idiot could see that their primary purpose was electing political candidates for their party and not a "social welfare group" , and the chances of overturning the SCOTUS decision on Citizen's United a state by state basis is HIGHLY unlikely in my remaining lifetime, I suggest that we flood the IRS with applications for our own individual non profit "social welfare" organizations.

Oh and be sure to include the words Tea Party and Constitution, or Building a Better America, or Taking Back America in naming your non-profit because you can bet your last dollar that after this, organizations with those words in their name won't be touched with a 100 foot pole. "If you can't beat em, join em". Perhaps if we make a mockery of the process big enough to drive a C-5 Galaxy transport aircraft through, someone will finally say that enough is enough.

but fyi Citizen's United can't be overturned on a state-by-state basis. It can only be overturned by the Supreme Court itself, or by a constitutional amendment.

are trying to pursue, since the likelihood of the SCOTUS revisiting Citizen's United in my lifetime, is unlikely. Unless of course, there is so much abuse in the system that even the SCOTUS would have to acknowledge the failure of such a system, which was my point.

Citizen's United has been in effect for over 100 years, SCOTUS only finally codified it.

In the words of that other place, we're SCREWN!!!1 And I'm very serious.

Yes, it's likely this "scandal" will serve no purpose other than to make the IRS back off checks they would ordinarily make. And maybe that's exactly what the cons want. They're the type who'd take advantage of the lack of oversight. More groups erroneously qualifying for tax-exempt status = more money for their political aspirations and even less revenue to the government - great idea if you're a "small gov" thug.
