A Mixed Bag of Reasons Why People Oppose Alternative Energy Projects

Seems like a lot of folks are out protesting installation of wind and solar alternative energy projects. The reasons for this opposition vary from environmental concerns (that's odd) and NIMBY issues (not odd) to wacky woo about health risks (expected). Here are a few links to demonstrate those concerns. One thing's certain, though: If you're planning a large alternative energy installation, you're going to get push-back, and sometimes from very odd directions, indeed. You be the judge.

Still, the little solar panel on your pocket calculator is OK, I think. I couldn't find any objection to those.

but you should have seen the reaction. They didn't want them there because they were 'ugly'. Probably the same folks bitching about the taxes. I wouldn't care what they looked like if they save money. The only drawback to these street lights was the lack of foresight that they might need to have an electric option... like we do on solar calculators.

Do they object to "ugly" telephone poles and wires?

Nope

....and all the woo over supposed health effects of wind turbines was completely made-up by people who think wind turbines are "ugly".

Yup
