Over the past several days, I have heard many people in the media, and not just the usual suspects on Fox, characterize last weeks events as part of Obama's "second term curse." But before we do that, let's put things into perspective.
Bush's "second term curse" was a botched federal government response to one of the worst natural disasters in US history that left thousands of people in a major American city homeless and without food.
Reagan's "second term curse" was the secret selling of arms to Iran in an effort to release hostages and fund anti-Communist forces in Nicaragua.
And Clinton's "second term curse" was an effort to impeach him over an affair, led by men (Newt Gingrich and Bob Livingston) who, themselves, were having affairs.
Obama's "scandals" are a few rogue IRS agents scrutinizing Conservative groups for 501 C3 status (even though it has since surfaced that Liberal groups faced similar scrutiny).
The Department of Justice going through all of the legal procedures to investigate a leak that could have been detrimental to US national security regarding a mission in Yemen.
And a months old smear campaign to insinuate that President Obama was involved in a cover-up when 4 Americans died in Benghazi, even though it has since come to light that REPUBLICANS were the ones who were editing e-mails in an effort to mislead.
Let's be honest - "Second Term Curses" only happen when Republicans act like their normal selves.

WASHINGTONReacting to the number of major scandals currently plaguing the White House, a somewhat confused American populace told reporters Friday that yeah, sure, theyre totally outraged or whatever about whats currently going on in Washington.
Amid reports that the IRS targeted various conservative political groups, the Justice Department spied on Associated Press reporters, and the government covered up crucial national security details regarding the Benghazi attacks, the U.S. populace confirmed that the allegations are, um, definitely very upsetting. Sure.
Everyone on television seems pretty mad about all this, so I guess Im mad too, said Denver-area marketing associate Greg Friedman, adding that what he felt was probably anger or some approximation of anger when he learned State Department emails about Benghazi contrasted with those released by the White House. The government definitely shouldnt have done all that stuff.
So...yeah, Friedman continued. Im mad.
While admitting that they dont really have a great handle on these issues, the nations 300 million citizens reportedly agreed that the government is deservedly under fire and those at fault must be dealt with and all that other stuff people who know about this seem to be saying...(cut)
According to a recent Gallup poll, when asked whether they thought Attorney General Eric Holder should be fired over the Justice Departments alleged wiretapping of AP journalists, 47 percent of Americans replied, Okay, sure, 38 percent told pollsters, Um, yeah, why not, and 64 percent responded, Who?...(more)
