The reason Bloomberg is trying to do away with 32oz drinks has nothing to do with

freedom, it is targeted against the marketing, not that people cannot drink as many sodas as they want

Very similar to joe camel to try to hook people through subtle or not so subtle marketing ploys

It was over-ruled by the courts as an over-reach, however the point was made with all the publicity to the effect that people should watch what they eat

Interesting public health issue

Childhood obesity leads to diabetes and bullying of them and taunting.
And causes tremendous doctor bills.

and it got MacDonalds to stop the super size, and it got Coke to voluntarily agree to now be honest about what is in their sodas
worldwide.

20th century

When they required immunization a, or garbage collection, and yes marketing joe camel to kids

Who pays for the type 2 diabetics, and obesity illness

Oh yes we want public health care for everyone, but there is a cost associated with that.

By your reasoning, if there was a health benefit associated with wiping your ass a certain way, you'd support laws mandating it.

Turn NYC into one big Amish community.

People are going to make their own choices.

If society has an obligation to provide healthcare for everyone, as many argue, then society has an obligation to encourage good habits

now that I watch what I ingest I noticed on a can of Pepsi Throwback on my shelf that it contained 40 gr of sugar and 40 gr carbs. My wife cracked up over my attitude change when I said that stuff ought to be illegal.

Actually, I hope you will be able to control it with eating lifestyle changes

You wouldn't believe how badly I ate. Anyway, I should be able to control it by watching what I eat.
Maybe they ought to label that kind of stuff with warnings just like cigarettes.

what's even worse is the sodas with HFCS in them.
My counts stabilized at a much lower level after I tried to avoid anything with HFCS in it.

fast food ,tobacco and alcohol are pushed while other products are dealt .If we want everyone to be healthy we can't push that on them
we have to deal with people logically .
The big drink ban was kind of pushy and didn't work ,it will take time and patience to get Americans healthier because we have to . Education doesn't have to be shock treatment like someone smoking thru a tube in their neck or shots of morbidly obese people pushing garbage down their throats .

I get dirty looks from the servers when I ask for just a cup, but what is to prevent some from buying 6 small sodas at a time? You know what? The more small sodas you buy, the more it will COST you. McD's will make more money with this.
