Rep. Louie Gohmert Claims IRS Would Have Murdered Boston Tea Party Protestors

Erratic Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas), who last made headlines when he ranted about how Attorney General Eric Holder was “casting aspersions on [his] asparagus,” now claims that the IRS would have murdered Tea Party participants back in the 1770s.

Gohmert made a 30-minute floor speech in the House on Friday, expressing outrage that the Department of Homeland Security is “protecting the free speech rights of pro-Shariah Muslim supremacists,” as some internet rumors have alleged, and also called out the IRS as potential murderers.

“You know, thank goodness that the IRS was not around to have helped the Founders when they founded the country or otherwise they would have probably shot the Boston Tea Party participants, they would have killed off over half of the signers of the Declaration of the Independence,” Gohmert said.

The grounds for this accusation, apparently, is a couple IRS bureaus going after “Tea Party” oriented groups for further scrutiny when they applied for tax-exempt status back in 2011. Adjusting for inflation, this activity, apparently, is equivalent to mass murder by today’s standards.

Today there is about 1/3 who meet some degree of nuttery, 1/3 have some idea of their self interest, and 1/3 are dumber than a box of rocks and have no idea what is in their self interest. Who ever convinces the box of rocks wins. Louie is deep deep in the nut category.

or a lobotomy, maybe firing a taser up his nose. Who knows...The problem isn't how does something this stupid remain able to move in straight lines. But somehow this argument for terminating pregnancy in the 280th trimester got picked to make decisions for the common good.
Which is proof there are people stupider than him.
