Anti-abortion leader faces criticism after comparing rape to car accidents

Right to Life president Barbara Listing said Wednesday that women should purchase additional health insurance if they feared being raped, because the sexual crime was like a car accident.

“Nobody plans to have an accident in a car accident, nobody plans to have their homes flooded. You have to buy extra insurance for those,” she told reporters.

Michigan’s Board of State Canvassers on Wednesday approved a ballot petition that seeks to prohibit health insurance companies from covering abortion procedures, even in cases of rape or incest. The initiative would require abortion coverage to be purchased as a separate rider.

If the activist collect signatures from 3.48 percent of all registered voters in the state, lawmakers can adopt the initiative without a signature from Gov. Rick Snyder. The Republican governor vetoed a similar proposal last year.

Not to mention hypocrites of the highest caliber (which Jesus himself would have hated) - they claim to speak of being "pro life" but actively cheer on war and executions. They are sick.

which is clearly asserted: Get insurance. How cares that you are a victim - your problem to solve: get insurance. And if you are a survivor - it is your fault if you have challenges after you were raped - if you didn't get "rape" insurance (does such a thing exist?)

A two-for-one insult to rape survivors: The solution is solely on you - the responsibility for action of the person who raped you is absolved, *and* if you suffer from after effects from the trauma - it is also you fault because you didn't have insurance.

Because, of course, any woman who gets raped was asking for it either by the way she dressed, where she was, how she acted, etc. That's what these idiots really believe. That rape doesn't happen to "good girls" and while I would not wish rape on anyone, being raped themselves would be the only way their mindset might be changed.

to cover her care...

I know, I know, a special case. Doesn't matter though does it? NOBODY expects to be a victim... until they are.

Disgusting, despicable proposal. Shameful.

We make people buy car insurance so that they can pay if they injure someone else, not so that they can take care of themselves.

Since our very existence seems to drive men into a sexual frenzy where they simply cannot control their urge to rape anything female.

Therefore our existence is the cause of rape and we simply are responsible for ourselves if we are attacked.

So it is the duty of all women young and old to completely cover ourselves in layers of black so that not even our eyes are showing.

That is kind of what a lot of women in far right wing religions do now - scarves and long sleeves and long skirts and very sensible shoes.

Although I do not like to mention the subject, some days I feel like I have to bring these MFs back to reality. I was raped and conceived my now 15 year old daughter. I was raped in a church at the age of 14. Now this bitch can go and tell every church that they need to get rape insurance! If not, women like me will sue the church into bankruptcy. How does she like them apples?
