I see almost no chance of taking back the House before Jan 2022..

That's because of the gerrymandered districts.. the next chance to change these is after the 2020 census. Soo it is very important to take back the state legislatures in the 2020 election in such states as Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan to make sure the district boundaries are withdrawn. It would ne nice to take North Carolina and Florida we well, but I doubt that would happen.

if we give up now, it will be just like 2010. We have to fight, we can beat the gerrymandering its just going to take a ton of work.

I think your assessment is wrong, and I'll be working to gain 2 seats here in Minnesota that are currently held by Republicans. There's a pretty good chance of success, too. What will you be working on in the quest to regain control of Congress for Democrats? Or, will you simply use your belief that there is no chance to justify not engaging in the 2014 campaigns?

GOTV 2014!

Just wishful thinking. I hate to be so accepting of the status quo.

there are only about 20 House districts seriously contested, and mine is one of them. Tim Bishop (NY1) has told us there's already millions being dumped into the district by Republican forces even though they haven't picked a challenger yet.

And it's not just because of the House-- we need to fight for more local and state offices simply because we need the offices.

handing the republicans the house again. Yes they have gerrmandered areas but it still has a chance to change the vote with the right person running. But we have to get the vote out. It is very important that people of color get out there and vote also. We need everyone.

with everyone piling on Obama. Like it or not, how he's perceived has a direct affect on Democratic politicians running for office, no matter where they are. So, as long as people are whining about the DOJ ferreting out a traitor from the media corps, equating FOX to journalism, demanding that Tea Partiers shouldn't be 'singled out' for trying to rip us all off by hiding a fortune in dark money in tax exempt organizations, or taking out peace loving Americans hanging out with extremists overseas, then 2020 is probably a pretty good guess.

But, you know, everyone should stand up for what's 'right', the right thing to do. I know the GOP certainly does. Their goal is to destroy the social foundation of this country because they think its the right thing to do, and they seem to have the upper hand, while their opposition nitpicks over government overreach that may or may not have serious repercussions.. or no repercussions at all. Its kind of funny..in a sad way.

It's been a winning strategy for members of both parties quite often.
