so it,s memorial day again

In 1978 I was working in Daura irak right outside Bagdad for 11 month.during those 11 month I was able to visit and see the zigurat in Ur,the moshee in Kerbula, the desertcastle in Al Ukadir and the hanging gardens and what is or was left of the foundation of the tower in babylon right by the euphrates river.my good friend Nasmir Us,who lives there tells me that all those places do not exist any more in a way that I would remember!
Happy Memorial day.

I imagine that he/she is inferring that our misbegotten adventure in Iraq destroyed a lot of their culture.
