Australia has emerged as the best place in the world to live and work for the third year running.
Britain did scrap into the top ten in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's Better Life Index, but it fell behind the US, Canada and the Scandinavian countries.
But it did come higher than European neighbours Germany and France, which were ranked 17th and 18th respectively - the shortlist included 36 countries.
The criteria had 11 topics which included income, jobs, housing and health.

They also have Footie, Australian Rules Football, by far the best football game on the planet.

From what I understand, Americans initially think it's like peanut butter and put a nice, thick layer of it on a sandwich. Wrong. Like Brylcreem, a little dab'll do ya.

(27,247 posts)of which there are 34 in total. For reference, there are only 3 Asian members of OECD (Israel, Japan and South Korea, or 4 if you count Turkey as Asia), and only 1 member from Latin America (Chile). So the poll is pretty much skewed toward Europe, North America and Oceania.
