Turf Wars over lake access. This is the kind of hostile, adverse possession attempts

which are all too common in my community. This story is different only because it involves water.

Two men accused of crashing airboat into fishermen's car at Buck Lake

Two Seminole County men are accused of harassing a pair of fishermen, ramming their airboat into a vehicle and assaulting fishermen at a rural lake in their Geneva community, according to wildlife officials.

Robert Dickson, 29, and Mark Wesley Rice Jr., 30, were circling Buck Lake early Monday morning in their airboat when they allegedly told the victims to get off the lake because it was private.

The lake is, in fact, not private and open to public freshwater fishing, said Officer Lenny Salberg of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

"They don't know why these guys got so hostile," Salberg said. "They just felt it was their lake and [the fishermen] had no right being there."
