Disneyland employee arrested in Toontown explosion

A 22-year-old Disneyland employee has been arrested in connection with the detonation of a so-called dry ice bomb in the park's Toontown, Anaheim police said Wednesday.

Long Beach resident Christian Barnes, an outdoor vending "cast member," was booked on suspicion of possession of a destructive device and is being held in lieu of bail of $1 million.

The explosion in a trash can on Tuesday evening forced the evacuation of Toontown. No one was injured, but the explosion caused some brief chaos in a portion of Disneyland popular with young children.

"Barnes is cooperating with investigators and has indicated this is an isolated incident with unanticipated impacts," Anaheim police Sgt. Bob Dunn said.

I'm pretty sure this was not a terrorist bent on mass slaughter. If so, a dry-ice bomb is a piss-poor way to hurt anyone.

What? Are they afraid he's going to swim to Cuba and seek asylum or something???

Dumb ass could've hurt somebody, but so could any dumb ass driver in the Disneyland parking lot.

Deciding to drive a car after a long day at Disneyland with the kids is just crazy.

Seriously? I mean I get how it was disruptive, but this is just an example of someone being a bonehead. I'm glad the cops weren't around for our physics club liquid nitrogen bomb powered potato cannons, or our ill fated attempt to use PVC pipe instead of the heavy ass steel pipe. That was LOUD!

...because he's so stupid. I was there couple weeks ago and while waiting in line for Peter Pan they had a bomb sniffing dog.

Dry ice bomb in a deserted field, area, etc. with some friends....fun time.

Dry ice bomb in a crowded area with children and could be a terrorist target...oh and they search your bags before you can even come into the place....dumb as a box of rocks.
