Sen. Donnelly introduces bill to help prevent military suicide

About time...I doubt it will make it past the Pubs, though.

"INDIANAPOLIS - Senator Joe Donnelly has introduced his first bill which is designed to reduce and ultimately prevent military suicide.

Last year, more U.S. service members committed suicide than died in combat operations in Afghanistan.

“This has to end. We’ve asked these young men and women to go over there time after time, after time,” Donnelly said.

In 2012, 329 service members committed suicide, compared to 295 who died in combat operations in Afghanistan.

Hoosier native Jacob Sexton took his own life while on leave in 2009.

In his honor, Donnelly named the bill the Jacob Sexton Military Suicide Prevention Act of 2013..."
