Ex-GOP candidate announces W.Va. think tank
A two-time GOP candidate for West Virginia governor is still pursuing his campaign platform.
Republican Bill Maloney has announced the launch of a new think tank he's calling the Center for a Brighter Future.
The Morgantown business owner said the group will pursue ideas he outlined when he ran for governor in 2011 and 2012. Topics include controlling government spending, promoting healthy living and job creation.
Maloney describes the new group as bipartisan. He and his wife are on its board along with seven of his campaign contributors. Only one is not a Republican.
Maloney lost both his elections to Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin, a Democrat. Maloney started a separate effort, the Mine Rescue Drilling Fund, in 2011. It continues to solicit donations through the Morgantown-based Your Community Foundation.
how can it be truly bipartisan if there's only one non-republican on the board?
I would ask how stupid these people think we are but I think we all know that answer to that!
