St. Paul. It could get nasty, people. Big hail and pretty strong wings.
If you're not in Minnesota, though, this won't probably be of any interest to you. There may be a few people in Minnesota reading this thread though, so I posted it so they wouldn't have to listen to the local news or look out the window to find out there's weather on the way.

(12,272 posts)Later on, but it didn't look like Houston is in the path. I am just watching Martin Bashir on MSNBC and they gave a short weather report. I do go to the wind map, it gives some idea of areas with more severe weather. http://hint.fm/wind/
I live in the PNW.

(135,060 posts)I usually do 3-5 but that was in the winter and spring. I am going to have to use the gym equipment in my house from here until Sept.

(12,272 posts)We use overhead fans maybe a couple times each summer. I spent some time in TX, every building you go into has air-conditioning.
maddezmom
(135,060 posts)And then turn it down to 78 for about an hour right before I go to bed. I have ceiling fans in all the rooms I use and it really does help. But most of the summer I am in either a bathing suit or a tank top and shorts because even a t-shirt is too hot.

(12,272 posts)It's the humidity that is oppressive.

MineralMan
(146,254 posts)and I have WCCO 830 up and running. They'll let me know right away if I need to be concerned. We also have sirens. It may be, though, that in some more primitive parts of the country, down near the border, they don't have such things as radio stations that broadcast important news about fires and storms. I don't know. I live in a big city, and we have all of those modern conveniences.
Keep your eye on the sky and your ear on the radio.

(12,272 posts)I just hope those that live in the areas that are experiencing severe weather now are safe.

(135,060 posts)So I would stop and get a giant Ice tea from the local filling station and would be gone by the time I made my 10 mile trip to work. Did the same on my way home. And I know this will probably disturb serious beer drinkers but I used to add ice to my beer to keep hydrated.
