We terminated the contract with Rapsican months ago," the spokesperson said in a statement.

The new AIT machines are millimeter-wave scanners, which are the kind of radio waves that cell phones usually emit.

the other scanner emitted radiation

needed for safety, but to intimidate, to help validate the ridiculous claim that big brother is keeping us safe although thousands of Americans have been killed by guns since the Sandy Hook massacre.

Organizations, not to mention the fact that they were banned by the EU, finally had some impact.

I want to talk to the DUers now who tried to defend these egregious violations of civil rights.

I remember how they tried to tell us we were pro-terrorists etc etc. Where are they now I wonder?

This was a battle that has been fought since way back during the Bush era when they were first introduced. But amazingly once Bush was gone, a few 'democrats' suddenly saw the need for them to fight 'terrorism'.

The Left is always right which is probably why Corporate America hates them so much.

However, thanks to Napolitano, Rapiscan made a fortune and the head of the TSA needs to explain to us why, if they were so necessary as he claimed, we can suddenly do without them.

Money, it was always all about money. The entire WOT is about money. How sad it is that so many Americans allow themselves to be duped by the con artists, like Giuliani who has made a fortume from the politics of fear, and Chertoff whose company, Rapiscan, profited from this scam.

I remember well the long OPS where defenders of these horrific machines claiming to be democrats right here on DU, worked hard to try to convince us that without them we would all be at risk of going down in a plane.

I really want to know what they have to say for themselves now. I guess the 'risk' is over. Which means we need to end this WOT scam and start spending money right here to create jobs, to fix the infrastructure etc.

The American people were royally scammed, and sadly, not just by Republicans who to give credit where it is due tried to prevent them from being used in several states.

what do we do with them? do we dismantle them and recycle the parts?
how many millions were spent on these things?

...and yet, food stamp programs are sucking the life out of the economy so we have to CUT, CUT, CUT!

contract with Rapiscan despite the world wide opposition to those horrific violations of the Civil Rights. I want to hear what she has to say about this. She was convinced we needed them for our 'safety'. So what happened? Are we not safe anymore now? Or was the 'Left' right again and the whole thing was a profit-making scam for Chertoff and Giuliani et al?

I'm sticking with what I always thought, the whole thing was a Ponzi Scheme that cost us billions of dollars not to mention the horrific violations of people's rights. Shame on all of them.
