I am really glad Roland Martin was suspended.
Football players are seen as role models, or heroes, in the US, by many people. Roland Martin's ignorant homophobia could spread to weak, impressionable minds, who then make their own jokes in schools, where there is already a terrible problem with bullying and suicide. We don't need famous adults fanning the flames of homophobia.
I hope many football players make "It Gets Better" videos in response to their colleague's hurtful remarks.
