Saying that women should be excluded from combat should be just as offensive as saying hispanics or

African-Americans or Baptists should be excluded from combat positons. It really is shameful that as a country we will only put one gender in those positions.

the history of war is filled with women. A woman disguised as a man won the congressional medal of honor during the civil war and who can forget Boudicca?

heh-heh-heh ... lots of people do but if you dig down to a certain level in almost all the southern english cities including london the ash level is her legacy.

As soon as he is deemed a credible threat to Romney. The establishment will take him down. Frothy the earmark man would be devastating for the GOP.

It is offensive and it will only be a matter of time.

If you join the army, you have to go through boot camp. We've all seen the movies and know what that's about, and the strength and stamina required. Then being a boot on the ground requires being able to walk miles in bad conditions while carrying a lot of wt (I forget what the wt is that they carry).

But being combat should be based on ability and not just gender or race or whatever. It's the ability that matters. If a woman can pass boot camp and other training, and she wants to be in combat, and she's not the only one (it'd be too cost inefficient to try to accommodate just ONE woman out of thousands of boots), then she should be allowed to.

The physical standards for soldiers shouldn't be changed, and anyone who can meet those standards should be allowed in combat. Women should also be required to register for the draft.

Infantry still fight on foot and carry a lot of body armor, weapons, ammunition, etc. I doubt that many women would make it through special forces training.

Pilots have to endure high G forces, although many women may be able to do that. There the best alternative is to get the human out of the aircraft and use drones only, which can be flown by women on the ground.
