The American Revolution Was Done Half-Assed

The French did it right...they went after both the institution of the monarchy AND the clergy as oppressors of the people!! We just did the monarchy part and now we have an unholy clergy minipulating the peons
to put today's 1% back on the throne.

There are two arguments against that:

Napoleon I, who restablished an EMPIRE.
Napoleon III, who was elected by the people to be an absoulter ruler. Known for making the French Empire grow, and even tried to conquer Mexico. Supported the Confederates in the Civil War.

The Bolsheviks went even further to dismantle forces of oppression the monarchy, church, and capital. Of course, they failed as well due to other problems.

Oh yeah, terror. Along with a generation of war, with an upstart deciding to crown himself emperor in the process.

The the Bourbon restoration, with a couple more failed revolutions after that. Then another emperor, who was not coincidentally the first guy's nephew.
