Rick (of course it's the women's fault) Santorum Blames Sexist Book Quotation On His Wife

Santorum was confronted this morning by George Stephanopoulos with a passage of his 2005 book blasting "radical feminists" for "undermining the traditional family and convincing women that professional accomplishments are they key to happiness." Santorum's response was SO meta: "That section of the book, if you want to be honest with it, was co-written by my wife."

i dont get people that have to start with, to be honest....

and whether it is the wife or him, his beliefs are the same. so it is really irrelevant who voiced it.

It's not like he's drawn a line anywhere else. That one confuses me.

Or his he trying to imply that his wife isn't one of those "nasty" feminists. You know, women who like autonomy, having jobs, making our own decisions, shit like that.

... is that most women, even the most conservative, share a little "feminist" philosophy when it comes down to the basics. They might not voice it, but they would tend to withdraw from a candidate that campaigned on an agenda to put women "back in their proper place".

6. He seems to be a huge proponent of putting women back

to the 15th century. From what I've seen and heard from him, he really doesn't seem to have any respect or true regard for women. He really should have gone into the priesthood if his faith is so important to him that he wants to go biblical on women.

7. So why isn't his wife listed as co-author? Did Rick plagiarize his wife?

I see one author listed - Rick Santorum. George should have caught this.

The book appeared under his name as author, so he gets to "own" every statement (unless the book explicitly says a statment is a quote from someone else).

Once again, as always and forever, the "party of personal responsibilty" is actually the "party of lying hypocritical scum".
