Unarmed Liberal Robbed by Machete Wielding Nut

Supreme Court Justice Breyer robbed by machete-wielding intruder at West Indies vacation home

Thank God this happened in the West Indies, where sensible gun laws make people safe!

I know that it's Fox News, so for those who only believe in one news source.

I didn't know that the supreme Court had it's own police force

Apparently he lives by his principles, which is sad because its only by the "good graces" of his attacker that he was not hurt or worse.

I ask because I am not.

It could be a factor in why the attacker was armed with only a machete. Further, there is nothing that shows whether there was a gun in the house which could have been accessed at the time of the attack.

His opinions as a US Supreme Court Justice would not have an impact on West Indies law, regardless.

I make the points to say, we have no basis on whether or not he has a gun in his home in the US.

Local law requires that official records log the acquisition, ownership, and possession of any weapon, and firearms are not allowed for vacationers. In practice, a person has to have special connections to or influence with the local government in order to possess a firearm legally.

Machetes are popular weapons all across the equatorial regions of the globe--they're fairly common since they're used for clearing undergrowth, easy to maintain, and they're a very effective weapon as long as the target doesn't have a gun, which are fairly rare across the Caribbean and most of Africa.

What a truly bizarre comment. People don't trust FNC because they only believe in one other news source. They don't listen to FNC because they listen to all the other major news sources which routinely disagree with FNC because FNC routinely reports falsehoods.

In fact, the only people I know who only believe in one news source are those members of the FNC audience who actually believe that FNC does not routinely report false news.

Your slip is showing.

4. I found it in Fox first, then backtracked to Huffpo

Many discount the content due to the source. It seems that you are one of them. I always, where possable, confirm the story. Altho that is not always possable.

So that makes me not a"true democrat" in your eyes?
Well then so be it.

5. I have seen this story posted from a variety of sources. Fox News is the only one

I have seen use a liberal-bashing headline.

I would have gone with another one of the dozen or so other sources myself.

7. Why the liberal bashing?

Nobody has denied the story. But we do question:

- quoting liberal bashing headline

- inserting your own liberal bashing comment, "for those who only believe in one news source," implying that people ignore FNC because the people are liberally biased rather than ignoring FNC because FNC routinely report falsehoods.

Originally, I thought I didn't like a Fox News headline, which is common place. Now, I see, it was your editorialized headline I don't like.

Just to be clear, I never rely on one source, and rarely ever read huffington post.

I had already read the story a few places and assumed the OP had used the actual headline.
