Romney isn't losing in Michigan because he was against GM bailout...

I keep hearing on TV that Romney's main problem in Michigan is that he was against the GM bailout. I've heard several times the now famous quote that he thought the auto industry should've been allowed to fail, free market style, and go into bankruptcy.

I'm sure that doesn't make Michiganites happy, but Santorum said the same thing.

So that doesn't explain Santorum's huge lead over Romney in Michigan.

Even Rachel Maddow didn't seem to know that the proper term is "Hoosiers."

I'm always surprised when the TV folks don't seem to have a staffer who can use Wiki.

Rmoney wrote articles calling for Detroit to go bankrupt. Santorum might have made similar comments but not as forcefully or as publicly as Mitt.

Rmoney should be winning here easily but he isn't because of those statements. He put himself in the crosshairs and is now taking fire.

he won Michigan with 39% of the vote. So 61% voted against him. So far this cycle, most states have been giving him a smaller percentage than they did in 2008.
