Fox "News" Takes Heat for Move Toward Center

Fox News Takes Heat for Move Toward Center
IT'S PART OF ROGER AILES' 'COURSE CORRECTION'

(NEWSER) – Is Fox News shifting to the center, relatively speaking? Politico thinks so, tracing it back to a "course correction" ordered by Roger Ailes last fall. He wanted Fox to move away from Tea Party "cheerleading" and to tone down the far-right rhetoric, writes Politico's Keach Hagey. "A casual Fox viewer might barely notice the changes since the network remains critical of the Obama administration and reliably conservative opinion voices, like (Sean) Hannity and Bill O’Reilly, still anchor key spots in the Fox firmament. But the changes are there."

The channel is pushing its straight-news hosts, getting tougher on Republican candidates, and even hiring contributors like Sally Kohn, a gay liberal commentator. For many conservatives, though, Fox has gone too far. "I’ve gone from all Fox to no Fox," says radio host John Fredericks. "I feel they’ve lost that independent conservative mantra." If Fox is seeking a wider audience, it's doing the right thing, says a media professor. "It’s a smart move to get slightly less conservative and draw in some people in the middle and slightly to the left."

Fox is as independent of the GOP elites as a parasitic twin.

Fox is undeniably linked with them. Fox as much as anyone hyped the teabaggers and egged them on as they stormed town hall meetings and toted guns to Obama's speeches. I think Fox began to have 2nd thoughts when teabagger nuts started winning primaries and losing elections in 2010, and even more so when the nutbags lost America it's credit rating by refusing to negotiate on the debt ceiling.

It's funny though I had read at freeperville about how Fox News had become 'liberal' and they were all turning it off. I figured it was just because some Fox commentators actually had the audacity to support the liberal Romney instead of cheerleading Gingrinch. I didn't know it was actually a policy change by Fox.

They see the writing on the wall. In addition, they KNOW they will be blamed for the clown car.

What they cannot fool with, is their bevvie of blondes. Already, they hide the men behind fascades, and display the womens legs prominantly. I cannot imagine what they will display if their ratings suffer further.

Just last night, I saw a beautiful blonde professor, take it to the fox fool, telling him not to use the poor and downtrodden as if he cared about their plight. She was indignant. It was beautiful. And they dont seem to be banning those that best the fox fools anymore.

They've earned the brand of "mouthpiece of the GOP" and it won't be easy to change. I know I won't buy into any "change" on their part.

Hiring a "gay liberal" commentator is like John McCain picking Sarah Palin as his running mate, thinking it would attract female voters. People aren't stupid. They'll see right through that, just like they did the Palin choice. Everyone knows what this network is about, and I doubt anyone will buy their alleged "move toward the center". This is nothing but lipstick on a pig.
