Whoa! Egyptian protests getting real!

Muslim Brotherhood National HQ now under sustained attack. Gunfire heard. Parts of building on fire.

Crowd near presidential palace erupted in celebration -- apparently -- at news that the Brotherhood's HQ is on fire.

No security whatsoever outside MB HQ as protesters attack building. Bird shot fired from inside. One firefighting truck drives by and leaves

That is going to really stir the pot.

It looks like Egyptians aren't going to go quietly into religious fascism the way they did in Iran.

It will be interesting to see who tries to fill the power vacuum next. If they're very lucky, it will be secular socialists.

they've ever had and he was more interested in consolidating power around the Muslim Brotherhood than he was in governing the country.

Still, one can hope. I think the Egyptians in the street and lobbing rocks and firebombs at MB buildings are doing just that.
