"The minute he put on those jeans, I knew he was a fake." From a dear friend

in Jersey who has always voted repub. I don't discuss politics with her unless she brings it up. She did say she liked how President Obama shows strength and confidence. I was stunned. Her dad was a repub congressman back in the '60s and her family is old time pubbies. She then asked if I was happy I voted for Obama. I said I was delighted with him on almost all issues. She and I had our first children together, we also were the first to go to the new Jewish OBGYN doctor and we were amongst his first patients. The only other doctor in town was Catholic and the father of ten.

She is going to vote for Obama this time, she agrees he needs more time to implement all of the great plans he has. She was especially happy about the talk of bringing jobs back from China. I'm still stunned..She has a beach house on the Jersey Shore and invited me up this summer. What a great phone conversation, eh? I guess it's true, one at a time the smart ones come around..

through what is going on. I have republicans in my family and some voted for Obama last time and will again this time. They are scared to death what the republican party has become. They told me the religious right has taken over the party. They are church goers and catholics who believe in evoluation and birth control.

the news with me if she was getting it from Fox. She promised to watch MSNBC and other stations and, oh yeah, she was shocked. I think we also sort of serve as examples. I don't push anyone or get in their face but I do speak the truth. Eventually they find out. Thanks for the reply..

after our friends (we were all in high school together and mostly Catholic) found out we were going to the new doctor, they came in one by one. The doctor often kidded he was administering to the Catholic Daughters. He ended up having a very successful practice and we are friends to this day. He got it, he never judged, just did his job. We loved him.
