"You are the poster child for the one percent."

Just used as an insult on The Young and the Restless.

More and more glancing references to OWS on primetime, but this is the first soap mention I've seen.

Anyone who wants to tell you OWS hasn't altered the dialog is wrong.

For years, decades, we have allowed the right wing to frame the dialog and choose the words. But OWS refused to be cabined, cribbed, confined.

(I'm going to add that the "one percent" insult was used to introduce a new character played by a soap giant from the defunct All My Children. They wanted an introduction with impact and they chose "one percent.&quot

I've heard a few times now on the demon box people refering to OWS as part of their fictional lives/reality. You know you've made it when fiction uses non-fiction as a reference.

The judge kept bringing up OWS in middle of court.

The judge was a sympathizer with OWS, and the attorney was trying to use that to set up an appeal. I did not see how that was relevant. OWS could only be related to this case in a very tenuous way, IMO.

Good show. It lacks the Chicago vibe, though. They should be taping it in Chicago. Then, they might get some of the flavor, and even the politics, if only by osmosis. I don't think you can have a lawyer show set in Chicago and have so little of the political flavor. Politics flavors everything in Chicago.

They were at Trump's place Saturday for some cancer foundation concert. Trump was sitting in the front row. Afterwards the choir were all joking about how it felt to sing from the 1%. (Of course most of the choir is 99%ers.)
